It was an ugly game between two mediocre squads at the "New Sombrero." Colt McCoy made his first and only start with the Browns shortly before being shipped out to Dallas for a 3rd Round Pick and Tony Romo. Aqib Talib picked off fellow Big 12 alum twice in the end zone, returning one all the way for a touchdown.

This game got off to a really slow start. Tampa Bay led 7-0 at halftime with a touchdown pass from Josh Freeman to Kellen Winslow. LeGarrette Blount led the way for Tampa with 93 yards rushing and capped it off with a 4th quarter touchdown. After the game, Talib was quoted as saying "I am the best corner in the NFL. Write it down." Head Coach Raheem Morris was pleased with his defense pitching a shutout, but says he expects more out of his offense.

Tampa Bay's Front office was busy after the game as they conducted two seperate trades. They sent starting defensive lineman Brian Price to Houston for disgruntled running back Steve Slaton. Upon that news, they shipped out Cadillac Williams, rookie wide reciever Arrelious Benn and a 3rd round selection to New England for wide receiver Julian Edelman and rookie tight end Rob Gronkowski. It's really early to tell, but things are looking up in Tampa Bay. They will play division rival Carolina next week.

Dallas vs Washington

Post  DJxSPARKYx2013 on Wed Nov 10, 2010 5:59 pm

In what started as looking like a game of defense, Dallas visited Washington for the first game of the 2010 season.

Both teams went back and forth with interceptions by both quarterbacks in the first quarter to end the quarter in a tie.

Dallas was first to score on a 40 yd FG by kicker David Buehler at 2:45 on the second quarter. After another one of Dallas's 6 interceptions of McNabb, second year running back Felix Jones was knocked out of the game with a bruised chest. On the next play, Marion Barber took a screen pass from QB Tony Romo 40 yds to make it 14-0 with 1:16 left in the half.

CB Terence Newman intercepted his second pass from McNabb and on the next play, Tony Romo threw a long bomb to Miles Austin for a 52 yd score. End of half: Dal 17-Washington 0

Washington came out int the 3rd quarter and proceeded to run down the field against Dallas, who were playing a soft cover defense. Although McNabb was throwing tha ball ALL OVER Dallas's defense, they held Washington scoreless in the 3rd quarter. HB Marion Barber added a 6 yd TD at 6:17 of the 3rd quarter to make it 24-0 Dallas.

During the 4th quarter, Dallas kicker David Buehler added a 19 yd FG at 6:19 to give Dallas a 27-0 lead. Although Washington seemed out of the game, McNabb still threw all over Dallas's defense, connecting with TE Fred Davis and WR Anthony Armstrong for scores of 17 yds and 36 yds, respectively. One of these scores came after David Buehler missed a 25 yd FG wide left, which would have sealed the game.

After making Dallas punt the ball with 2:32 left in the game, Washington started what looked like a comeback, but with 40 seconds left in the game, Terence Newman snagged his third interception of the game, sealing the win for Dallas. Final score 27-14

Key players of the game:

Dallas defense: Held Washington to 249 yds of total offense, caused 7 turnovers (6 INTs) and sacked McNabb twice.

Good game Washington, can't wait for the rematch.
