Tampa Bay vs. Carolina WK 2

In this early season division battle between 1-0 Carolina and 1-0 Tampa Bay, it was the Panthers that prevailed at home. Carolina jumped out to an early 21-0 lead as they rode an early LeGarrette Blount fumble and a Bucs three and out to get their early lead. Jimmy Clausen was terrific as he torched the Bucs D for 370 Yards. In the second quarter, Tampa Bay made this thing a game. Josh Freeman launched two long touchdowns to newly aquired wide reciever Santonio Holmes. This cut the defecit to 21-14 at halftime. Tampa got the ball to start the half and drove right down the field but was stopped short of the goaline on a 4th and goal. That drive took nearly the entire third quarter. Aqib Talib picked off his third pass of the season shortly after and Tampa took the ball right down the field again, however Freeman made a very costly redzone interception. The Panthers iced the game with two more touchdowns in the fourth to make this a 35-14 final.
