defense wins championships Pats beat the Bengals

In a rainy day at Gillette Stadium the bengals came to play the patriots. The rain effected the game has Brady and Palmer threw for a combined 10 INTs. The scoring started off with a Pat Chung pick 6 off the hand of Carson Palmer. Than on the Bengals drive Palmer threw another INT to Brandon Merriweather. Brady a few plays later hit Edelman for a 23 yard TD. Than to close the first quarter Brady found Branch for a 11 yard TD. Than when the Pats got the ball back Brady fumbled and the Bengals Fanene returned it 82 yards TD. The Bengals started to creep back into the game as the score at the half was Pats 25 Bengals 20. As the second half started the Bengals scored again to bring the game within 8 points. That would also be the last time the Bengals would score as the Pats defense surged back to life. Palmer threw 5 INTs in the second half inculding 2 pick 6s one by Pat Chung and another by Jerod Mayo. After the game Coach Bellicheck praised his defense saying "A good defense will win you a game but a great defense that can force turnovers and turn them into pionts will win you championship." Brady after the game said he is excited about the rest of the season and hopes that the defense will continue its great play and that the offense will follow in suit. The Patriots game next week will take them to New York to play the Jets.

The front office after the game got to work quickly as Wes Welker who over 200 yards recieving in the game was sent to Minnesota Vikings for Sydney Rice. Than Belliecheck being the draft master that he is traded rookie tight end Rob Gronkwski and wide reciever Julian Edelmen to Tampa Bay for rookie wide out Arrelious Benn, running back Carnell "Cadillac" Williams, and a 3rd round draft pick. The front office is "very pleased" with the moves and is looking foreward to building a championship team.
